At some point during the 19th century, the ‘crapaud’ saw the light of day—a compact armchair, with a rounded back seamlessly gliding into lower armrests, providing a comfortable hug. Guillaume Lopez was inspired by its elegant silhouette, in a contemporary, sculptural interpretation: the 'Claude' chair. In his designs for Linteloo, Anthony Guerrée is inspired by human actions, this time: stacking. Give toddlers some building blocks and, instinctively, they will start stacking. In his ‘Stack’ series—two coffee tables and a cabinet—, Anthony plays with storage and display in the same, liberated way, using a rhythmic combination of oak veneer, subtly shimmering dark steel, and glass.
