Designer Niels Bendtsen (1943) was born in Denmark and emigrated to Canada in 1951. In 1981, he started his own design and manufacturing company, Bensen, in Vancouver. He has been designing furniture for LINTELOO for many years now: ‘LINTELOO embodies the cosy and joyful lifestyle of Jan and his partner Lars. LINTELOO furniture gives everyone a chance to experience their vision.
LINTELOO is not a local brand, it is a global brand. With that thought in mind, I design pieces for their home, for everyone’s home. I am pushing the boundaries to combine the strong lines I love so much with the utmost comfort.’
The idea behind the new Facet Sofa by Niels Bendtsen was to make a welcoming sofa, which totally fits the feel good factor of LINTELOO. Because the arms and backs of the sofa have the same slant the sofa allows for building modules and makes it easy to configure larger environments.
‘I always strive to make comfortable furniture that will fit into any interior’

‘I always strive to make comfortable furniture that will fit into any interior. I didn’t want to create a chair that says “Look at me!”, but one that felt like it had always been there. My creative process generally consists of sitting at my table sketching while listening to jazz. I wanted to make a chair that was reminiscent of Miles Davis: timeless but fresh, simple but well-constructed. That is the spirit of chair Miles.’
